A quick update on something that's moving fast.
Both Beehiiv and Kit now have MCPs (Model Context Protocol servers). If you missed Day 9, MCP is the standard that lets AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT plug directly into your account without copy-pasting.
Beehiiv launched theirs in March. Kit followed up recently. Both are live, both work, and they take slightly different approaches.
Here's the honest breakdown.
→ Free for every beehiiv user. No paid plan, no waitlist.
→ Read access across the entire platform: subscribers, segments, posts, automations, podcasts, products, surveys, polls, referrals, monetization data.
→ Write access for segments (new in v2). You can ask your AI to create or update segments directly.
→ More write features coming. Drafting posts, building automations, generating landing pages were all previewed.
What it's good for today: deep analysis, segment creation, pulling cross-account insights without exporting anything.
→ Available on paid plans (Creator and Creator Pro).
→ Read and write access from day one. Every endpoint in Kit's v4 API is exposed as an MCP tool.
→ You can create and send broadcasts, manage subscribers, build automations, tag and segment, all via natural language.
→ Kit also has a separate Developer Docs MCP for people building on top of the platform.
What it's good for today: action-heavy workflows. If you want your AI to actually do things in your account, Kit got there first.
The honest caveats
Kit's write functionality is full-featured but still maturing. I haven't tested every workflow myself, but I've read user reports of issues with HTML rendering and edit operations. That's expected for something this new and will get sorted.
Beehiiv has fewer write capabilities right now but the analytics depth and the free-for-everyone access make it the easier on-ramp if you're just trying MCP for the first time.
Where this is going
MCP is the way forward. Every serious tool is shipping one. In six months, "does it have an MCP?" will be a basic question you ask before adopting any creator tool.
If you're on Beehiiv, connect the MCP this week. If you're on Kit and on a paid plan, same. Both setups take under two minutes.
